1. Acceptance of These Terms

These Terms of Use (“Terms”) govern your access to and use of the Numbered News website, newsletter, and related services (collectively, the “Services”), operated by Numbered News (“Numbered News”, “we”, “us”, or “our”).

By accessing or using the Services, including by subscribing to any free or paid newsletter, you agree to be bound by these Terms. If you do not agree, you must not use the Services.

If you are using the Services on behalf of an organization, you represent and warrant that you are authorized to accept these Terms on that organization’s behalf.

2. Who We Are

Numbered News provides a daily news ranking and newsletter service that surfaces widely covered stories from around the world based on comparative coverage metrics, not editorial opinion.

3. Eligibility and Accounts

You may use the Services only if you:

• Are at least 18 years old (or the age of legal majority in your jurisdiction); and
• Have the legal capacity to enter into a binding contract.

Some parts of the Services may require registration or the creation of an account. You agree to:

• Provide accurate and current information;
• Keep your login credentials secure; and
• Be responsible for all activity that occurs under your account.

We may suspend or terminate your access at any time if we reasonably believe you have violated these Terms or applicable law.

4. Purpose of the Service – No Professional Advice

Numbered News is a comparative, meta-reporting and entertainment service. Our rankings, summaries, and analytics are designed to show how widely different stories are covered across a subset of news sources — not to provide professional advice.

You agree that:

• The Services are for informational and entertainment purposes only.
• You will not rely on the Services as the basis for important business, financial, legal, medical, or personal decisions.
• You should always consult appropriate professionals or primary news sources before making any important decision.

Numbered News does not provide financial, investment, legal, medical, or other professional advice, and nothing on the Services should be interpreted as such.

5. AI-Generated Content and Accuracy

Numbered News uses artificial intelligence (“AI”) and algorithmic systems in various parts of the Service, including (without limitation) generating titles and summaries for headline story clusters.

While we aim for accuracy and clarity, AI systems are not perfect. You acknowledge and agree that:

• Titles, summaries, and other AI-assisted content may occasionally contain errors, omissions, or misleading implications.
• AI-generated content may incorrectly imply facts or relationships that are not fully supported by underlying reporting.
• You should always refer to and rely on primary news sources (the original publishers we link to or reference) to form your own understanding of events.

Numbered News is not responsible for actions taken based on AI-generated or algorithmically derived content.

6. Coverage Limitations and Completeness

Numbered News does not comprehensively analyze all news from all sources.

You understand and agree that:

• We only include a subset of global news sources, selected based on technical, editorial, and policy considerations as determined by us.
• Even for sources we do consider, not all headlines or articles are reviewed.
• Metrics such as the number of headlines, number of sources, geographic distribution, and other analytics are therefore incomplete and non-exhaustive.
• Our rankings and metrics are provided “as is” and do not guarantee completeness or perfect representativeness of global news coverage.

Our analytics are designed to be a transformative, high-level snapshot of coverage, not a full map of all reporting in existence.

7. Subscriptions, Billing, and Cancellation

7.1 Subscriptions and Fees

Certain features of the Services may be offered on a paid subscription basis (“Paid Services”). By subscribing, you agree to pay the applicable subscription fees and any associated taxes.

Unless otherwise stated:

• Fees are billed in advance for the applicable billing period.
• Subscriptions automatically renew at the end of each billing period unless you cancel in accordance with these Terms.

7.2 Cancellations and No Refunds

You may cancel your subscription at any time, effective at the end of your current billing period.

Unless required by applicable law or explicitly stated otherwise in writing:

• All payments are non-refundable.
• No refunds or credits will be issued for partial billing periods, unused Services, or retroactive cancellations.

If you are in a jurisdiction with mandatory consumer rights regarding refunds, those rights may apply in addition to these Terms.

7.3 Changes to Pricing and Plans

We may change subscription fees, introduce new plans, or modify existing plans at any time. If we increase fees for ongoing subscriptions, we will take reasonable steps to notify you in advance and provide an opportunity to cancel before the change takes effect.

8. Service Availability, Outages, and Changes

You acknowledge and agree that:

• The Services may experience occasional outages, delays, or errors, including but not limited to:
  • Temporary unavailability of the website or newsletter;
  • Delivery issues (such as emails going to spam, bouncing, or being delayed);
  • Inaccuracies in data, rankings, or display.
• No uptime or delivery guarantee is provided unless expressly agreed in a separate written contract.

You agree to accept the Services “as is” and “as available”, including these potential issues, even if you are a paying subscriber.

We reserve the right to modify, suspend, or discontinue any aspect of the Services at any time without prior notice, including but not limited to:

• Newsletter format, layout, or length;
• Sections, categories, or features;
• Algorithms and methodologies used for rankings or analytics;
• Included news sources;
• Metadata, filters, or analytics available to users.

We will not be liable to you or any third party for any modification, suspension, or discontinuation of the Services.

9. Intellectual Property and License

9.1 Ownership

The Services, including all content, rankings, analytics, compilations, text, graphics, logos, designs, and underlying software (collectively, the “Content”), are owned by or licensed to Numbered News and are protected by copyright, trademark, and other intellectual property laws.

The transformative analytics and comparative metrics provided by Numbered News (such as ranked story lists, coverage counts, and compiled data) constitute proprietary and copyrighted material.

9.2 Limited License to You

Subject to your compliance with these Terms, we grant you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable license to access and use the Services for your personal, non-commercial use.

9.3 Prohibited Uses of Content

You may not, without our prior written consent:

• Reproduce, redistribute, republish, or display substantial portions of the Content;
• Systematically copy, scrape, harvest, or extract our analytics, rankings, or compilations;
• Create derivative works or competing products using our rankings, metrics, or compilations;
• Use automated tools (e.g., bots, crawlers, scrapers) to access, query, or download Content, except as permitted by a publicly documented API or robots.txt;
• Reproduce or host full text articles from third-party news sources accessed through or identified in the Services.

You must respect the intellectual property rights of both Numbered News and third-party publishers whose content we reference or link to.

10. Acceptable Use

You agree that you will not:

• Use the Services in any unlawful manner or for any unlawful purpose;
• Attempt to circumvent or interfere with security, rate limits, or access controls;
• Use the Services to harass, abuse, or harm any person or entity;
• Misrepresent your identity or affiliation with any person or entity;
• Attempt to reverse-engineer, decompile, or otherwise derive source code from the Services, except to the limited extent allowed by law.

We may investigate misuse and cooperate with law enforcement where required.

11. Third-Party Links, Sources, and Services

The Services may include links to or references to third-party websites, publications, or services (collectively, “Third-Party Services”).

You acknowledge and agree that:

• We do not control and are not responsible for Third-Party Services;
• We do not endorse the content, opinions, or products of any third-party publisher or platform;
• Accessing Third-Party Services is at your own risk and subject to their own terms and privacy policies.

Numbered News is a comparative coverage and analytics service — not a publisher of the underlying articles.

12. Disclaimers of Warranties

To the maximum extent permitted by law, the Services are provided on an “AS IS” and “AS AVAILABLE” basis, without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied.

Without limiting the foregoing, we specifically disclaim:

• Any implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, non-infringement, and title;
• Any warranties regarding accuracy, completeness, or reliability of the Content or analytics;
• Any warranties regarding the availability, timeliness, or security of the Services.

We do not warrant that:

• The Services will be uninterrupted or error-free;
• Defects will be corrected; or
• The Services will meet your expectations or requirements.

13. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law:

• Numbered News and its owners, officers, employees, contractors, and agents will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, consequential, special, punitive, or exemplary damages, including loss of profits, revenue, data, or goodwill, arising out of or in connection with your use of (or inability to use) the Services.
• Our total aggregate liability to you for any claim arising out of or relating to the Services or these Terms will be limited to the amount you paid to us for the Services in the twelve (12) months preceding the event giving rise to the claim, or, if you have not paid us, $0.

Some jurisdictions do not allow the exclusion or limitation of certain damages or warranties, so some of the above may not apply to you. In such cases, our liability will be limited to the fullest extent permitted by applicable law.

14. Indemnification

You agree to indemnify, defend, and hold harmless Numbered News and its owners, officers, employees, contractors, and agents from and against any claims, liabilities, damages, losses, and expenses (including reasonable attorneys’ fees) arising out of or in any way connected with:

• Your access to or use of the Services;
• Your violation of these Terms; or
• Your violation of any law or rights of any third party.

15. Governing Law and Dispute Resolution

These Terms and your use of the Services will be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of [insert governing jurisdiction, e.g., the State of Arizona, United States], without regard to its conflict of law principles.

Any dispute arising out of or relating to these Terms or the Services will be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts located in [insert county and state, e.g., Maricopa County, Arizona], and you consent to the personal jurisdiction of those courts.
